 I remember, ... we already had that discussion concerning the 
last-frame-problem... and I also opted for the dummy-frame solution that 
time!

Now, with that "batch convert"-feature in mind, I would really do both!!!

A dummy frame for the ones, who intuitively set a marker at EOF and the
automatic (counter-intuitive in terms of closed marker pairs BUT maybe 
intuitive in terms of batch-convert) stuff for the insiders.
