Dump this program. Now. It's way obsolete and hasn't been maintained in a long time. The result is as you noticed. You have basically two options for burning DVDs: use growisofs, or cdrecord-prodvd.
No problems with that; I'll have a rummage for a growisofs (I did see that mentionedin this list's archives but it wasn't immediately available) RPM before I build it & try that.
In the mean time, though, I can say that the latest cdrecord-prodvd gives *exactly* the same error. I didn't email the text from home to here at work unfortunately, but I'm pretty certain of that, and I'm also pretty certain that I tried cdrecord.prodvd with the latest firmware (via xcdroast), but I'll double-check that over the W/E.
And I'll try growisofs ...
