Thank you for your feedback -- but don't worry, Dreamwidth is not
going to be doing that.  :)

As a general rule, we are only going to *tighten* the security and
privacy of the service, not loosen it.  The feeling of safety people
have gotten used to by being able to control who can see things on
LJ/IJ/etc is valuable and I can assure you that we have no intention
of weakening or hurting that in any way.

Your comment echos the comments of a few other people on the mailing
list, so I want to try to be very clear about this:  we are NOT going
to take away security settings that you are used to on other LJ based
sites.  I hope that is what you are looking for.  :)
