That's not a problem for us.  That's the reason we want it :)

They would miss it on their watch lists and it would not
appear at the top.  Therefore they would not be confused about
the chronology by reading stuff that happened in June 1942 right
after reading stuff that happened in September 1942.

People who only read the community on their watch page also miss
all the fictional journal posts that are posted in individual
character journals and not to the comm.  (Because nobody really
wants to friend 200 fictional people.)

This is why we have a watchers' community where we post links to
things in the order people need to read them in, and a wiki which
lists every post that was ever made in the game in
game-chronological order.

"Historical" posts would be linked to on the wiki in
their proper place in the game chronology and would be linked to
on the watchers' community *separately* from posts that are
currently happening.

I imagine other people who want this functionality (for instance,
for posting a long fictional work by ONE person, or for ordering
other kinds of posts entirely) also want people to read their
stuff in the order they want them to read it in, and not as it
pops up casually on a watch page.
