First, thanks to all who dropped a note in reply. Short summary is, RF
Parts seems to be the best place to look for new 572-B's (at least as of
today) and that the Taylor (New) or Cetron (NOS) are the best choice, but
the Svetlana tubes are to be avoided as they aren't "true" 572-B's in terms
of design, size, and other technical details.

Second, the good news is, I didn't have to buy any tubes after all. No, I
did smoke 'em. Fortunately, I have a junker SB-200 that blew it's power
supply and meter many, many moons ago (I was still married to the first wife
then) that I've been meaning to, well, get a round tuit. I thought I had
given the tubes from that linear away, but turned out I didn't, and even
after several moves and 10 years of shelf storage, they still work and the
"good" SB-200 is functioning normally again.

Let this be a lesson to you! Never tempt the contest gods. This is what I
get for trying to work a JA on 80 CW during the CQ World Wide PHONE contest
on a Sunday morning! I've gotten away with things like this before (that's
how I got two of my 3 QSO's with K5K 2 years ago, worked 'em on CW during
the phone contest), but this time, I got caught. Worse part of it was, when
the finals started going, they caused some unusual RFI into the wife's clock
radio, which she forgot to reset, so she had TWO reasons to be cranky with
me (you ask, why is it my fault that she forgot to reset the alarm? If you
have to ask that question, then you are not married!)

...and no, I didn't get the JA, either. 18 more to work, 20 more to
confirm, but at this rate, I'll never get that 80 M DXCC done!

Anyone know offhand the current pricing, availability, and quality of
572-B's? 'fraid my SB-200's finals were a casualty of the contest.
