Air Andaman may now have direct air service to Port Blair from Bangkok and
various boat services may also be operational, but do extensive checks on
this before traveling this way. Several airlines regularily fly from the
India mainland to Port Blair. 73,
Only Jet Airways and Indian Airlines (= Alliance Air on the Pt. Blair leg)
do offer regular (daily) flights to Pt. Blair either via Chennai or
Kolkatta.
Chennai has the better International flight connections (f.e. Delta Air
Lines, Air France, Lufthansa ...)
Jet Airways, at same ticket costs, is the much better choice compared to
Indian Airlines/Alliance Air.
No other Indian domestic carrier is actually operating the Pt. Blair route.
No International flights to/from Pt. Blair.
Only during high season (december/january) there has been some flight offers
mostly by P.B. Air (Bangkok/Phuket - Pt. Blair).
I doubt that any airline will offer International flights to Pt. Blair
during low season (april) in the near future.
Boat services are offered from Chennai and Kolkatta 3-4 times per month,
from Vizag once per months. (60-65 h travel)
For a reliable planning choose Chennai as port of arrival and Jet Airways
(www.jetairways.com) as your domestic carrier.
It´s an easy trip.
