I've been licensed for nearly 35 years and only took
up chasing DX seriously about two years ago.

In my situation, LoTW is an indispensable tool for me
to get beyond the basic DXCC award. At roughly $3.00
each (sometimes more) to snag a confirmation, having
the "choice" of being able to get a card, use a LoTW
confirmation, or get both is wonderful.

Simply put, my budget does not support mass mailings
for all the entities I need to achieve 5 band DXCC
just as one example. When I work a new one, I DO like
to get a card, but after that, for other bands and
modes, a cost-effective LoTW confirmation is just
fine.

I have confidence that any remaining growing pains
with LoTW will be ironed out, but my overall
experience with it has been nothing short of positive.
The QST article published about a year or so ago on
how to set up an account was just the guideline I
needed to get me started. If there is any way to
encourage more DX stations to sign up and submit their
logs, I'm all for it. Perhaps some kind of incentive
offered by the League???
