Hello determined DXers...

VU4 team is working constantly for you.... Dec. 20 at 0600Z:

1. I will explain LoTW to the team and hope later all logs can be loaded there.... today, the logs are entered by hand writing onto good old fashioned paper. A SWL volunteer is then typing them into a computer, but the hand logs will be kept to solve any questions that may come up as QSL requests come in. No one here can take time off to search for any one call ... pse do not ask.

2. The team is very sensitive to the needs of the East Coast and Mid West USA and NA, too. However, Bharathi is on 14.190 SSB nearly continuously. She sleeps about 0100 to 0500 daily Andaman time. Saraha apparently does not sleep (altho they bought him a mattress for the dorm room he is in). All prop info I receive, I relay to the team.

3. I am saving all the great messages of congrats to the team and will print them out and present them in a booklet to the team later.... thanks for understanding and sending the nice words....

4. Better to wait a few more days until the QSL situation sinks in.... that is, the team will understand the size of that job and the issue of mailing green stamps and come to terms with all that ..... I am urging them to make a final decision and announce it soon on how best to send in QSLs to the VU4 op.

5. Any donations that arrived at my mailing address lately are being held by the 32732 post office awaiting my return to Fla. Don't worry, I will bundle the donations and forward them to NIAR and Bharathi in January. And, YES, you can still make a donation. The team is deficit financing this operation due to the speed of its activation and thus there was no time to fully apply for ham foundation and club grants. Maybe that can be done yet so that the deficit can be paid off. No one is living high on the hog over here... and as many can hear, the team is ON THE AIR, not basking in the tropical sun on the beach. Help them out, eh?

Now, don't you love ham radio !!!

73,

Charles Harpole VU3CHE
