Title: Notify OSD should be able to handle viewports like workspaces. Status in “notify-osd” package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: For example, if a video is playing or I am running a full screen terminal on a different viewport (virtual desktop) than the one I am currently working in, I would still like to see the non-critical notifications. Now, non-critical notifications on my system are dropped simply because I am running a terminal in full screen mode on another viewport. If I kill Compiz with a "metacity --replace" Notify OSD turns back to normal behaviour. If I understand correctly, this is because Compiz uses viewports instead of workspaces.
