You have been subscribed to a public bug:
Notifications should disappear when acted upon.
When you click the contact list, all notifications about contacts should be
discarded
When you reconnect the network-manager, all previous network-manager
notifications should be discarded
When you click the music-player window, all notifications of the music-player
should be discarded.
and so on...
This way, you won't get notifications about things you allready know
about.
This is very annoying, for example when a lot of people login to your
messenger at the same time. Sometimes the notifications are more than a
minute late.
