Well, it is at least with nvidia-331, which (correct me if I'm wrong) is the latest version in the Ubuntu repositories, in trusty is still an issue. With this version of the nvidia drivers window resizing is usable, but it does not works as good as it would be expected. With nvidia-340 from the xorg edgers ppa window resize works really smooth but Unity has some flickering problems where Firefox and Nautilus UIs freeze randomly. I think this is an already reported bug on Compiz, but don't know if they are working on it anymore. Do you have some information about this?
