I tested this with compiz, metacity (with and without compositor). As of
notify-osd 0.9.11 this is no longer happening.

Bug description:
Whilst using the clock applet in the panel, ie when the calendar, map and
timezones are showing and a bubble is received, it remains behind the drop-down
and is therefore barely visible (only the right-most few pixels show).
