Converting writelog adif is not straightforward as it should be. For the 10 meter contest, I had to add a new import filter to get the state in the correct place, the exchange in the recvd block and the frequency in the comments. Seems like that is true for every contest log.
Making the filters is easy (takes 5 minutes)and you can put any field from the Writelog fields into any desired field in DX4WIN. I will be glad to send you the 10 meter Writelog filter for DX4WIN conversion, but have not found an easy way to get it out of the DX4WIN.iep file. I don't think new filters that you add are carried forward when you upgrade DX4WIN to a new version. This is the information in the help file for the Writelog import: "WriteLog In WriteLog, export your log as a 'Comma delimited ASCII' file with the file extension 'txt' (see File | Save as ...). Depending on the kind of contest you logged, additional fields, such as RST and zone may be available for import. The import filter as supplied only imports the minimal amount of information. To import additional fields, the filter can be copied, and those fields added. Also copy the files writelog.pro (add necessary fields) and the file writelog.bat using the same name as the name of the new filter." -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Peter D. Recommendations for log conversion to DX4WN I have a couple of logs from last fall that I need to move into DX4win. Any recommendation on best utility to convert SS & ARRL 10 Meter from WL to DX4WIN. Or is ADIF by it's self the best method??? 73 TIA REN WB3FSR _______________________________________________ Dx4win mailing list [email protected] http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win
