No, it doesn't work that way on the 756PRO. With my 756PRO, when the Active VFO is VFO B, the DX spot frequency goes into VFO B (which is the QSX xmit VFO) and the A VFO remains unchanged. So you wind up with VFO A still being tuned to the old frequency and VFO B tuned to the next frequency. The new QSX xmit frequency is not loaded into the rig at all.
The usual split operation with the 756PRO is to have VFO A on the DX's frequency (so it is my receive frequency) and to have the audio enabled from that VFO so I can hear the DX station. Then VFO B is tuned to the frequency on which the DX is listening (which makes it my QSX xmit frequency) and the audio is usually disabled from this VFO so I don't hear the squeeling hordes. So after I hit the spot, VFO B goes to the new frequency. But I don't hear any change. The only audio I hear is from VFO A which remains unchanged and is still on the old frequency and the rig is still in split mode. So if I now transmit I will be on top of the new DX station. It's all balled up at that point. The log should just force VFO A to the DX frequency and VFO B to the QSX frequency, if one is given.
