The quest continues. I was able to download a piece of freeware that allows me to watch the data as it flows between the PC and rig. The $06 command sets the mode. It appears that DX4WIN is sending $06 $03 to set the mode to CW. The rig defaults to CW Wide (i.e. no filter). Using the command $06 $03 $02, sets the mode to CW and sets the narrow filter! Now how to edit the radio file to send the longer data string.. This is not my strong area guys--any software types want to look at the ICOM 746.rig file and give me some ideas?
