The 850 has provision in it's software to set VFO B to be the transmit VFO, but it does not seem to actually make it become the transmit VFO - which occurs manually as we know by pressing the "B" button in the "TX" column.
This command does work with the 850, but not in DX4WIN for some reason. The Command is "FT1;" (without the quotes). I enter this command using Windows HyperTerminal and it works fine.
