I think it's because PSK31 is so narrow that a DX "split" would only need to be a short distance away (?100-300 Hz) that it would still be in the bandpass waterfall. Thus you don't need to move "that far" and it would be nice to just have the software alter the transmit by the desired amount. Moving the rig is way too old fashioned! ;-) It would really be sort of an exercise in frustration to operate the rig in split mode for such a small needed offset. 73
