It is true according to my 3rd edition of the ICOM CI-V interface reference manual. This version includes the IC-765 as one of the radios covered. The mode data definition for the various modes is defined on Page 6 - Section 6-6 -- "Mode and IF passband width tables" The table preceding the IF passband width table states: "For the IC 781, IC-R9000 and IC-R7000, IF passband width is selectable via the CI-V System.
