WB1EUL asked: Two questions 1. I am trying to connect my PC with DX4WIN to my FT1000D and can not get the radio connection to work. I keep getting timeouts. Perhaps the radio has an older eeprom. How do I check out the eeprom version. And what is the trick for connection? A. Try setting the FT-1000 address to 62. When I set the system up, the default FT-1000 address was 00. Seems to have changed something from older version of DX4WIN. Drove me nuts until found the address was incorrectly set in the default. Second question. I also made up a serial CW cable and can not get that to work either./ Help A. Might work after the address is set.
