Guys, The FT-1000 does not use the 'address' value in the radio database; it is uses by ICOM and similar protocols.
Forgot how to see the ROM version, but it is in the radio manual (it may also reset the CPU / registers) Are you powering an interface using a RS232 signal like DTR ?; if so, it needs to be enabled. There are more points in the on-line help; see Frequently Asked Questions section. Paul
