One really nice thing is that LOTW tells you with each batch you send during this beta test exactly what is wrong with which QSO -- for example an "Oh" instead of a "Zero." Then you can fix it so you're all ready for when LOTW goes live.
I don't know if the API has now been delivered to software writers, but in looking over the data that are being delivered by the web site, it strikes me that one really good thing would be tight integration with the QSL stats in DX4WIN. It would be great if there was a way, inside DX4WIN, to mark QSO records with QSLs received/matched through LOTW, and then to do submissions for awards in a clean and seamless way. I realize that the mechanics of the latter may not be totally clear, even in ARRL's mind, at this stage, and will do my best to be patient. For the moment it's enough to know that I'll be able to QSL all my contest QSOs at zero cost. Cool. 73, Pete N4ZR The World HF Contest Station Database was updated 9 May 03.
