Apparently the LoTW software authors were not real familiar with satellite operations. On AO-40, as many of you may know, you can QSO with a station using U/S while you are using L/S. In this case the uplink and downlink bands will never match...

Also, LoTW infers the satellite mode from the two band fields, and any future mode-specific awards will take notice of that.
