Maybe the logic behind that is that GROUP 0 is undefined, it is for ALL QSO's not assigned to another group, so no name is to be assigned to it. For my logging, since I use DX4WIN to track contests as well as regulars QSO's I do not use GROUP 0 at all. I use GROUP numbers assigned to different calls I have held or to contests I have worked. The group number remains the same when you close then reopen DX4WIN unless YOU change it. So in my case, I use GROUP 100 as my current default GROUP number I log to for everyday QSO's under my current call. If I enter a contest I use CT then download the CT ADIF contest file to DX4WIN under it's newly assigned individual GROUP number for each contest. My only worry is someday I may use up all available unused group numbers.
With my old Logging pgm I would sometimes waste QSL cards as I would go to the Philippines for the CQWWDX or 10 mtr contests. Then when I would print out QSL labels I would sometimes accidentally paste them on my stateside QSL cards instead of my portable DU cards because I didn't pay proper attention to the dates on the label that was the only way to know where I was during that QSO. Now, with DX4WIN, the bottom of my label will say "K7ACZ Reg QSO" or "2002 CQWWDX DU6/K6ACZ" or "2003 ARRL 10 M DU1/K7ACZ". Now there is NO question which QSL card to use. I find it VERY helpful. 73 Dave Sharred wrote: > Just tested this ; I reassigned all my logs to another group , but zero. > > now, doing F8, and selecting group 0 shows no QSO's. > > Then that makes my first note correct - there must be a bug that means > DX4WIN can't select groups when printing QSL's for Group zero > > All other groups work ok, where group names are entered > > Dave > G3NKC > > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Jim Reisert AD1C > Sent: 27 January 2005 03:20 > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [email protected] > Subject: RE: [Dx4win] Group numbers > > > Les, I think I mis-spoke.
