In the manual's explanation for "Notes for this call" ( p.48 ver.6.03) it says
that this information will show up, in a separate window, when you have entered
the call data for a new QSO so you can recognize something about the operator,
e.g name or whatever may have been entered into this part of the log.. All I
see is: Date-Time-Band-mode-Conf-Groupname. How can I have the data entered
into "Notes for this call" show up in this window.

It is not a separate window, it is a separate field inside the QSO window.
Use the F5 key to expand this window.
