I am a pround to be a "none version 7 user" - using soft since version 2 and maybe in future version 8 73 Chris -----Urspr?ngliche Nachricht----- Von: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Im Auftrag von Peter Bacon Gesendet: Dienstag, 31. Looking at the differences between ver 6 and ver 7, I do not see any compelling reason why I should upgrade to ver 7 if I do not want the RTTY feature. Are there any other reasons why I should consider upgrading? 73 Peter G3ZSS _______________________________________________ Dx4win mailing list [email protected] http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue May 31 14:16:19 2005 From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Sauvageot Christoph) Date: Tue May 31 14:27:53 2005 Subject: AW: [Dx4win] Why upgrade to ver 7 Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Hi Chuck, But they don't remove all bucks from version 6 till today! Yep! In the current declining market for ham products (you might argue this assumption if you wish) the probability that a small (1 or 2 people) software company will fold is high. Independent of any substantive value-added functionality, I find it in MY best interest to throw $25 their way from time-to-time just to help ensure they'll be there five years from now to answer my questions and clean up bugs. Think of guaranteed bug removal downstream as "value added" now. This might be pressing a couple of philosophical hot buttons, but real-world scenarios often require pragmatic responses. How much are you willing to spend on preventive maintenance of your hardware? Don't you think your software deserves a little too? 73, Chuck, N4NM _______________________________________________ Dx4win mailing list [email protected] http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue May 31 14:19:30 2005 From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Stan Staten) Date: Tue May 31 14:31:11 2005 Subject: [Dx4win] Why upgrade to ver 7 In-Reply-To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> We should do anything we can to encourage authors of good software.
