Hi, Jack. As far as I can tell, there is a bug in DX4WIN 7.01 where the only way it will recognize the QRZ CDROM is if you give it a drive letter. If you copy the CDROM data to your local hard drive, DX4WIN will not recognize it if you just enter the full path name in the appropriate Preferences--ExtData field. The only way I have been able to get DX4WIN to access the QRZ CDROM data after it has been copied to a hard drive is when that hard drive exists on a remote computer and then I can assign a network drive letter to it. (I have tried to assign a drive letter to my local QRZ program directory using the old DOS SUBST command, but DX4WIN doesn't recognize it, either.) For example, I have my QRZ CDROM copied to the standard 'C:\Program Files\QRZ Ham Radio' directory on my 'shack110' remote computer. I then assign the network drive letter 'Z:' to '\\shack110\c\Program Files\QRZ Ham Radio\' and I am able to successfully have DX4WIN on my local computer access the disk drive-resident QRZ files on the remote computer by placing 'Z:' in the appropriate DX4WIN Preferences-ExtData field. Perhaps someone on the reflector can explain to both of us how to get DX4WIN to utilize QRZ CDROM data that has been copied to a local disk directory. 73, Dick -- Dick Flanagan K7VC NV SM E-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
