I use 7.02-14 to start with, I create a filter in the menu FILTER > SELECTION and select for instance a date range, I see the filter is active and the filter name is visible in the title bar, using the CANCEL FILTER option and ESC doesn't release the filter. I will downlaod 7.02-15 to see if that makes any difference.
