I may have spoken too soon - I noticed the pausing again last night, even with
the new slower polling rate, but not as frequent. I'll keep notes during the
CQWW contest this weekend.

Subject: [Dx4win] Help identify problem callsigns for the country file
Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Hi Folks,

Those of us running 7.02 have better "bad /portable rejection" due to changes
Paul made at my suggestion.

Problem calls seem be mostly of the form:

   /LH
/LGT (lighthouse stations - these come up as Norway)

   /J
/JOTA (Jamboree on the Air - these come up as NO COUNTRY)

I now have trouble identifying these problem calls from the spots files, since
they don't affect me any more.

If you are so inclined, you can help me out:

To identify calls in your logbook for which DX4WIN can't determine the prefix,
do this:

- cancel any logbook filters

- open the Logbook window

- open the report editor and select only these fields:

  Date
  Callsign
  Prefix

- right-click on the logbook window and write to (a .CSV) file

- open that .CSV file in Excel (or equivalent) and sort the log
by the Prefix column (make sure to "expand the selection" when
Excel asks. Note that Excel has a limitation of 64K lines,
so it may not read in your whole logbook.

- Go to the bottom of the sorted list. Identify any QSO where
the prefix field is blank. Send me the data (call, date, etc.)
Note it is NORMAL for X5 and T0 (Tango-Zero) stations to have no
  prefix.

As far as the others, you can search the callsign field for:

  /LH
  /LGT

If any QSOs come up, and the Prefix field in the logbook does not match the
prefix for the base callsign (i.e. AD1C/LH should come up as USA, not Norway),
then let me know the call and date of those QSOs.

There's no rush on this, I won't be incorporating these changes until a future
release of the country files (not the upcoming release).

Paul KK4HD reminded me that you can sort the logbook by prefix. The calls with
no prefix will at the beginning of the sorted log.

I am at a loss to know how to setup DX4WIN to work with my Ten Tec Jupiter.
I have setup up 746PRO and 897D without problem in the past.
Any help would be appreciated.
(My apologise if this has been covered before.)
