With the Orion already on, I booted up DX4Win and Orion started
transmitting. I turned it off and then back on (w/DX4Win still running),
and it started transmitting again.
What might have happened to my "preferences" file? Can someone send me
their settings for the Orion (i.e., a screen shot of the "radio" page in
preferences"?
And while you're at it, how about your "packet" page -- all of a sudden
I can't connect to my local telnet node. Nothing happens anymore when I
try!
Thanks,
Eric W3DQ

Subject: [Dx4win] Franz Josef Land
Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
I'm doing a big revision of Franz Josef Land. By default, all UA1P calls were
put in FJL but some (many?) of them are *not* FJL but instead European Russia.
Here's what I decided to do:
FJL prefixes:
4K2
R1FJ
/FJL
FJL callsigns:
EK1P
EO1AOK
EO4AOK
R1O
RZ1OWA
UA0BAZ/UA1O (UA1O/UA0BAZ)
UA0BCA/UA1O (UA1O/UA0BCA)
UA0BDU/UA1O (UA1O/UA0BDU)
UA0BEZ/UA1O (UA1O/UA0BEZ)
UA1KEC
UA1KED
UA1ODX
UA1OIL
UA1OKV
UA1OT
UA1PAL
UA1PAM
UA1PBN/1
UA3CR/UA1
UA3NDO/UA1O (UA1O/UA3NDO)
UK1PAA
UK1PGO
UK1ZFI
UV1OO
UV3CC/UA1P (UA1P/UV3CC)
UW3HY/1
UZ3DD/1
YL1P
All of these calls have been verified from multiple sources where possible.
I don't believe any of these calls were really Franz Josef Land and I removed
them from the list. If you can confirm that any of these ARE indeed FJL,
please let me know.
UA1O/UB5MAL (later 4K2MAL, but was *this* FJL?)
UA1PAO
UA1PAP
UK1OAX
UK1OAZ/U1P
UK1PAD
UK1PAL
UK1ZAA/P
UV1OO/FJL (don't believe he ever signed this way)
Thanks & 73 - Jim AD1C

DX4WIN users... I have a minor problem that is most likely operator error, but
I am stumped.
I have a new PC that I installed 7.02 on. I merged the ini file from my 7.01
installation and brought the database over. That all is fine
and is working as it should. However, I tried to print labels to my Dymo 400
(as I had been for the past 8 months) and I get the following:
Warning: Not able to set Custom Paper size.
I have it configured correctly for the width, height, # across etc. and I was
set to Expert mode when I did it. I shutdown the
program and started it up. I also rebooted, just to see if Windows 2000 had
something to do with it. (I have the same opsys
on the old PC) I am able to print to the printer from Word and the Dymo app
itself.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hi Bill,
I use the Dymo 400 Turbo and get the same error each time I print.
Once I bypass it it prints fine but it would be nice to get it to go
away. I've always thought it had somthing to do with a Windows
setting but have never found it. So if you get an answer....

Hi Bill. I use the Dymo 400 Turbo with DX4WIN 7.02 running under WinXP Pro
SP2, and print labels without receiving any warning message. I'm not sure
what's the difference between my setup and yours, except that I'm running XP
Pro instead of W2K. Here's the link to an app note which AD1C put on his
web page showing my setup for the Dymo 400 Turbo, using #30334 labels.
http://dx4win.ad1c.us/appnotes/nr3.htm
Good luck and hope you can find what's causing the problem.
