Make sure that the mode field is enabled. just hit S to select SSB and C once or twice to select CW (Clover also starts with C). You work PSK and RTTY from the mobile? In any case R selects RTTY... P selects lots of stuff... but if the inactive modes were removed from the dropdown the situation would be improved... not many using Clover for example.
