You seem to be missing the point Larry. In the case of an electronic "gamble" as you put it... the M conveys nothing as ALL contacts are uploaded fairly frequently.
If you also frequently "QSL 100%" that would also be the case for "postcard gambles". But, in fact, even those who do QSL 100% often do it once or twice a year and most don't QSL 100%. Also, some awards require a card. The M or lack of it should indicate some action should be taken if you are pusuing the confirmation. Setting it to M for an uploaded contact obscures that important information. No one, so far, has proposed any logical reason why there should be an M flag for uploaded Qs.
