IMHO version 7.03 was when it got screwed up. What it says is exactly correct prior to that when you had the special keys enabled, ESC would not exit you out of real time entry, exactly correct but ESC did do what it should and that is stop the CW being sent immediately without any other effect. If you disable the special keys function then ESC will exit you out of real time entry. 7.02.15 works correctly, 7.03 it was changed and not for the better.
A fix would be to return ESC to its proper function of immediately stopping any CW being sent and use some other key stroke combination, perhaps ALT/ESC to exit real time entry, or return to having to disable the special key function before it will exit you out of real time entry. I think this is what people didn't like so perhaps something like the ALT/ESC key combination to exit real time entry would satisfy everyone. 73 John ZL1BYZ. -----Original Message----- From: Kjell W. But then Esc should not work with 7.02. 73, Kjell, PB3SM - SM6CPI > -----Original Message----- > From: [email protected] > [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Erkki Heikkinen > Sent: 25 December 2009 07:19 > To: 'Nodir Tursoon-Zadeh'; 'John Shaw'; [email protected] > Subject: Re: [Dx4win] CW and Esc > > OK, now I found it (QSO entry window).
