I have an Acer Aspire Netbook with no serial and no parallel ports. I am able to connect my transceiver for CAT control, SignaLink USB interface for PSK/RTTY, and a CW keying interface – all using USB adapter cables. Works great!
I use a USB to LTP cable purchased from www.TigerDirect.com item number ULT40113. That cable terminates in a DB25 connector. I then plug in a W1WEF adapter purchased from http://www.trlog.com/w1wef.shtml item Model 1. A keying cable with a phono plug on one end and a plug to match your transmitter goes on the other end (a 3-conductor 1/4-inch phone plug in my case). The SignaLink box plugs directly into the USB port. I use a USB to serial cable to the transceiver CAT. There are many suppliers of this cable. You can get one at www.TigerDirect.com item number R12-40735 or choose a longer cable if you need it. My little Netbook computer does everything my home computer does when I’m on the go. 73, Bert N8NN ______________________________________________________________ Dx4win mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
