Well, I am finally retiring my Widows 98 ham computer and replacing* it
with a "new" XP Pro computer -- that I got 2 years ago and am just now
getting around to changing out -- two months before XP support goes
away. As they say, timing is everything! <grin>
On the Win 98 machine, I just used DX4Win, Version 5.03, for very casual
and basic DX logging and nothing more.
Here is the question:
Now that I have DX4Win installed on the XP computer, right at start-up,
I get a small window that pops up and says "Warning - Could not open CW
driver". I click "OK" and everything then seems to work fine.
Barefoot pilgrim that I am, I didn't realize you could even use the
program for CW -- and never got that warning message on the Win 98
machine. Can anyone tell me why I am getting this message and how to
make it go away.
Thanks and 73,
Carter K8VT
* note: FWIW, the Win 98 machine was/is working just fine with all its
existing software. The reason for the change out is so I can load new
programs like JT65-HF that want me to be in the 21st century.
