Hi, Paul.

I apologize for not being clear. I already have correctly populated FREQ fields and "Rx=nn,nnnkHz"-populated NOTES fields. When converting a typical QSO to ADIF, these will result in "<FREQ:8>tt.ttttt" for transmit frequencies and "<NOTES:12>Rx=rr,rrrkHz" for receive frequencies. These NOTES fields are not ADIF-compliant for receive frequencies.

The proper ADIF format for the above receive frequency should be "<FREQ_RX:8>rr.rrrrr" Let me give a sample from my log:

<QSO_DATE:8:d>19990109 <TIME_ON:6>163900 <CALL:5>AB7WZ <FREQ:8>1 4.26000
<PFX:3>AB7 <DXCC:3>291 <CONT:2>NA <MODE:3>SSB <BAND:3>80m <RST_SENT:2>59
<RST_RCVD:2>59 <CQZ:1>3 <STATE:2>NV <QSL_RCVD:1>N <LOTW_QSL_SENT:1>Y
<LOTW_QSLSDATE:8:d>20030923 <NAME:3>Bob
<NOTES:28>Rx=14,255kHz Nevada ARES Net <EOR>

The entry, paying attention to the last line, should be:

<QSO_DATE:8:d>19990109 <TIME_ON:6>163900 <CALL:5>AB7WZ <FREQ:8>14.26000
<PFX:3>AB7 <DXCC:3>291 <CONT:2>NA <MODE:3>SSB <BAND:3>80m <RST_SENT:2>59
<RST_RCVD:2>59 <CQZ:1>3 <STATE:2>NV <QSL_RCVD:1>N <LOTW_QSL_SENT:1>Y
<LOTW_QSLSDATE:8:d>20030923 <NAME:3>Bob
<FREQ_RX:8>14.25500 <NOTES:15>Nevada ARES Net <EOR>

I am looking for a utility that will convert the first entry to the second so I can transfer it to an ADIF-compliant application. I hope I have done a better job explaining what I am looking for.

Dick

Is anyone aware of a utility that will take a DXL file containing
Rx= entries in the NOTES: field and convert those entries into
FREQ_RX:fieldsin the resulting ADIF file? The ideal utility would
then remove the Rx= entries while allowing any other NOTES:
entries to remain and convert any kHz entries to MHz.

This would probably be easier to do in a unix shell script, but
those days are far behind me. :)
