Hi Folks, I want to release my new DX4WIN Data Updater soon, but you probably would like something to update first!
The Updater has had pretty extensive code changes to improve error detection and handling. Thanks to the folks who help test the fixes. I also fixed a few bugs. There is no new functionality. These are the databases for which I plan to release updates: - awards - master callsigns - membership list The country file update is still a few days out. I have a bunch of updates queued up but no time to make them in my master database. My plan is to upload all the changes tonight (local time, Thursday morning UTC), then send a few E-mails to the reflector. When the E-mail about the DX4WIN Data Updater itself shows up in your mailbox, you can then go ahead and perform the actual update. IMPORTANT: Even though the Updater can update itself, I would prefer that before doing any updates, you first uninstall the current Updater, then install the new one (link will be included in the E-mail). This will ensure that you are using the very latest Updater when performing the data updates. There will be a reminder of this in the announcement E-mail. Thanks & 73 - Jim AD1C p.s. the DX4WIN Data Updater web page needs a lot of changes. It was never really revised after I released the GUI version so many years ago. Much of it no longer applies. I won't have time to make the changes until the weekend (at the earliest).
