Folks, I need help with an unusual problem with DX4WIN 8.05. I am running 8.05 on two PCs and one laptop each running Windows 10 (upgraded from Windows 7 or 8). These run perfectly.
I have another laptop (Dell Inspiron 3520) which I just replaced the hard drive and made a "clean" install of Windows 10. As with my other computers, I am running Norton 360 antivirus. I downloaded 8.05 from the website and installed it. I can run the demo version. However, when I put my DX4WIN license in the 8.05 subdirectory and start the DX4WIN program, the PC simply freezes and I have to kill the power to get it back into operation. I have run "sfc /scannow" and got no errors. I removed Skype and Splashtop from the laptop. These are the two programs that I don't have on the other 3 computers. The results are the same. I disabled Norton 360 and tried again. But, got the same result. Any suggestions on what to try next?
