I suspect that I am one of many that do not join the list until they are in deeeeeep trouble...and I am. indeed, in trouble!
A few days ago my computer locked on me with DX4WIN open. Normally, this kind of occurrence is not big deal. A worse I end up with a new "backup file" and no log data is lost. Wow, not this time! Now I cannot open DX4WIN no matter what. Fortunately I have adi.backup up through a week before the crash but the missing log has two new DXCC in it - of course! After a near heart attack thinking my logs are lost, I thought I better beg for some help from the pros on here. Now when I attempt to open DX4WIN, this message pops up: "A fatal error has occurred. The file: C\PrpgramFiles\dxw903/SAVE\country.dat is missing". I have obtained the most recent copy of this file from the dx4win source and inserted it in my dx4wn file. I should note there was already a country.dat file so I deleted is, assuming it was corrupted. No luck after inserting the new country,dat file; same error message.
