The only time dx4win crashes (really don't but I get the message you say) I have found so far is when I have as save directory a dropbox or onedrive kind of directory. As you say the save directory is the default which I suppose is something like C:\dx4win\save and not inside the program folders. Do you use the secondary (backup) directory? You will find it under file>preferences>QSO tab. Is this directory in onedrive, etc?

Hello Kostas, thanks for responding.
I have the .DXL file located in the SAVE folder, in fact when I close the program the EA8AM.DXL file is updated, both the one in the SAVE folder and the second copy that I make on a pendrive that is always connected to the laptop. The problem is that I don't know why DX4WIN closed unexpectedly and when I opened it it told me if I wanted to rename the file, I said yes and gave it another name, but when I opened it it had not recorded 3 QSOs that I had entered just before DX4WIN was closed, so I commented that maybe it was my fault that I did not do the procedure correctly.
Thanks for responding.

I would suggest to use an external software to search your computer.
Windows search does not search every folder. The software I use is
called "everything". It's free and you can find it here
    https://www.voidtools.com/downloads/

Install it and search for *.dxl files
