Redd, Jerry and Jack, I have my W5XD keyer and my Ten-Tec Omni VI + now
on com 3 (was com 1) I have my Ten-Tec Jupiter on com 1,
the rotator control (DCU-1) is on com 2 and the packet TNC is on com 4.
This whole setup works excellent in Writelog. In Dxbase I have checked
"activate W5XD external keyer" and the comport is selected as com 3,
the Omni VI+ is selected as "key the left radio" (which it is).
In the Dxbase2002.ini file in the windows directory under CW the
XDPORT=COM3, so all settings are ok I guess.
In his answer to my respons on Jerry's e-mail Jack suggested to check if
the comport selected was the right one.
When I try to send cw from the keyboard when using Dxbase, no keying is
the result and Dxbase freezes after I have typed the second letter
under the tab "cw character out".
I too cannot run Dxbase and Writelog at the same time, same message
here.
So since the whole setup works fine in Writelog I suppose Dxbase needs
to be examined by Jack.
I hope he will investigate this matter, best regards, Gert PA3AAV.

Subject: RE: W5XD keyer question

Hi Jerry (and Gert).

I'm brand new to DXbase. Installed it 4 days ago and just subscribed to
the reflector yesterday.

I was just about to post the very same keyer question that you did last
week.

I am running the W5XD multi-keyer and an FT-1000MP, all from COM1, and
yes, they work great for Writelog. No such luck with DXbase; the screen
locks up when I try to send CW from the computer. Everything looks like
it should work. If I try to start WL with DXb running, WL says COM1 is
not available, so DXb is trying to use it, but not succeeding.

Did you ever find the answer? Any help would be appreciated.

Has anyone used this keyer with DXBase 2002 ? I have tried to set it up
but does not want to work !
I have the keyer/radio connected to COM1. COM1 plugs into the keyer then
from the keyer off to the radio.

It works fine with Writelog, so I know the keyer itself works.

Any information would be greatly appreciated !
