Sandy, Pardon me but that is a total copout. DXbase also controls both rig serial port and the W5XD keyer since it only polls the rig for info when updating the log or switching frequencies in response to user commands. It is (or should be) a relatively simple matter to coordinate communication with the serial port between program modules or sub-routines. It is truly a shame that you would expect those of us who use the W5XD keyer with both Writelog and DXBase to re-wire our stations when we go from WriteLog to DXBase and vice versa for contests vs. "normal" day to day operation. 73, ...
