Guy & Gals

I did SOMEthing to my system a long while ago that has resulted in my
inability to connect to certain clusters.
For example:
I can connect to KE9KE in both DXB and DXTelnet using the same ip numbers
and login commands.
I cannot connect to W9NIU in DXB but can using DXTelnet again using the same
ip numbers and login commands.

I thought that it was possibly my ZoneAlarm Firewall but I disabled it for a
test with no change in results.

When this first started I was running Win98SE. I now am running XP and the
problem continued.

I then installed DXB on another computer with the EXACT same results.

I put a unmodified Host File, absolutely clean, from the DXB disk into the
appropriate directories.
Still no change in results.

W9NIU is NOT the only cluster that this problem occurs with. Many other
clusters exhibit the same problem, they fail to connect using DXB but
connect instantly when I use DXTelnet on the same computer.
In the DXB Host file I can find NO differences between the ip numbers at
all.

All my computers are connected to the inet via a router/LAN system to a high
speed connection. I have no problem with any other type of connection.

I have been working on this for months and just can not find any common
denominator/link that would give me a clue.
