Jack: Actually, I am very pleased with DXBase the way it is - a fabulous program!
My only issue remains with installation of upgrades. Way too time consuming. (I'm talking about HOURS!) Contrast this with a program such as Writelog, which many of us use for contesting. An upgrade takes a few minutes, max. In my experience, the following DXBase upgrade issues remain unresolved: 1. If you install the new version of DXBase, and then uninstall the old version, registry entries for CW and rotor control are deleted, causing those features not to work. This requires reinstallation of the new version and then configuring ALL of the user settings, a lengthy process. 2. If you uninstall the old version of DXBase before installing the new version, then the installation won't be able to copy old INI settings for user options, thus requiring the user to "reinvent the wheel," and reconfigure virtually all of the user settings. Very time consuming and annoying. I am surprised that I haven't seen any discussion of these issues on the reflector. Maybe I am just missing something. Even with the upgrade hassle, I like the program so much, that I am willing to spend the hours necessary to upgrade - but it sure would be nice to have the ability to upgrade quickly and easily. 73, Al, K6RIM Albert C.
