Mark, There is a convention that is expected by DXbase when it comes to VFOs and split mode. If the radio reports that it is split mode, DXbase expects the receive to be VFOa and the transmit to be VFOb. I suspect that "sometimes" you have the reverse and therefore, DXbase logs them differently than you expected.
