Below is a workaround to the CW problem some people have with DXB 2004:

I had several people inquire about a solution to the DXBase 2004 inability
to send CW on my LPT port. I was able to devise a workaround. I went into
the DXBASE.INI file and changed the line that reads

DXBPORT=Dxb24 LPT1

to

DXBPORT=Dxb98 LPT1

My CW now works with DXBase 2004. I know its not the best solution, but at
least it works!

Subject: [DXBase] Lost CW functionality in Dxbase 2004

Set up Dxbase 2004 last night. Had Dxbase 2002 running fine. Same
machine, same ports.

I cannot get CW from LPT 1. COM ports seem to act OK, though the rotor
on COM 3 has a problem not seen in Dxbase 2002. Commanding the rotor to
move creates a situation where the whole machine freezes for 60-90 sec
then the rotor moves to the correct position and the program resumes.

I have used the driver update program and verified the ports in Control
Panel.

Any ideas what I should do next?

BTW I still have Dxbase 2002 in a separate directory from 2004. Is this
OK? Might it create conflicts of some type?

Tnx
