Peter your scaring me!! I submitted my log a year ago many years of DX QSOs. There were no matches for any band that I didn't already have with the ARRL. I now believe there is ONE QSO in LoTW that would be a new band/DXCC for me. I just submitted my annual collection of a small handful of cards and checked the LoTW box. I expect them to give me credit for the ONE contact and ignore the other 12,000 or so. The computer should go through and match only those contacts that I have not already been credited with. LoTW has been a nightmare for me, hopefully the process will eventually be debugged and simplified.
