Peter, You mention that you prefer to use LoTW credits first before you use cards. I happened to do it the other way and would be glad to give you that procedure which I recently submitted and completed. It is just a matter of choice. Either way requires several steps. Manual guidance is required.
First, BACKUP, a copy of your log as LOG "A" Run the DXCC Wizard to select your LoTW QSLs only for the bands / modes of interest. Make sure you check "exclude past submissions" and possibly "select marked qso records" if you had done any selection of specific LoTW records. After it has done its work, DXBase will ask if you want to "unmark" any previously selected records and RECORD credit for those new records it found. Select YES. BACKUP a copy of this log as LOG "B". Check your printed records to see what was selected and credited. Keep this record for use with LoTW online. Run the DXBase DXCC Wizard again on LOG B but select CARDS ONLY. Also make sure you "exclude past submissions" which will eliminate any DXCC entities you captured on your first run. When the wizard asks if you want to record DXCC confirmation of these new records, I would answer NO to give yourself a chance to check the listed cards. You can always run this again from LOG B and record the credit confirmation after you have reviewed the list. Your second DXCC award wizard list should now just contain DXCC entities you have selected for CARDS and would not contain any DXCC entities you previously selected for LoTW credit (even if you also have a card). There are more little nuances in the precise selection of records if you have multiple LoTW QSLs for the same DXCC entity and the comparison of what LoTW might automatically select vs what DXBase selects for the LoTW record etc but you should get the general idea. I expect to be doing hybrid submissions for a long time because cards will be available without corresponding LoTW confirmations. 73 and good luck, George ..
