When you have two radios or rotors connected and you are trying to communicate
with them instead of a window saying "HF radio failed to respond. Do you want
to disable further requests to the HF radio?" coming up AND repeatingly coming
up until you finally click on "Yes". What would be more helpful is after the
first time is to bring up the options page from User Options for that item.
The window means that most likely there is something wrong on that page and
should give you a chance to change it.
Another thing that would be handy would be if there was a "Test" button on the
option page or some easy way that you could test the connection between DXBase
and the radio/rotor before you actually try to send or get any information from
it. Maybe even a way so that if you have multiple COM ports the program would
send a command to each COM port that only the radio/rotor would respond to and
therefore identify which port it is connected to.
For instance, I have two empty COM ports 3 and 8. Right now nothing is
connected to either of those two ports. If I says that Radio 2 is connected to
COM 3 and I try to send it a command to change frequency nothing happens, not
even the window mentioned in paragraph 1. If I change it to COM 8, then I get
the window which 5 seconds after trying to do the same thing. I should get it
at both windows since it isn't connected at all. Why is that?

Hmmmm!
The only problem with that is that it will effect your totals slightly such as
then it
looks like it WAS a valid country at one time.
But I don't see how to include it as INVALID, which would not include it in any
totals.
But your method would allow for an entry to be accepted just in case someone
has a change
of heart on the status.
So I think I'll take your approach.
