Phil, You either do not have administrator rights, or, you have some security setting turned on that is stopping entries from being made to your registry. I don't know what those settings are in XP. I recommend that you call Microsoft Tech Support for help with Windows. Just tell them that you need to execute a .reg filename that was received from a trusted source and ask them what Windows setting you must change in order to allow this to happen.
