To all:
If you upgraded from DXbase2004 thru all previous windows
versions - and you want to bring YOUR CUSTOM made Labels,
etc forward for use in DXbase2006, pse just copy the
PREVIOUS versions' files (such as for Labels lbl, lbv, and lbp)
from their current directory and PASTE them into your DXbase2006
Labels, etc directory .. Then bring up the Label Designer Module
and select each of the files you want to use in 2006 - bringing
them fully into the designer module - then simply do a File / SAVE!!
Just make sure that you are saving them into your 2006 Labels
directory (for a label or qsl card file)..
The "warning" that will come up when you first bring the OLD
custom file into 2006's label designer module - is only
a warning - just cancel past that warning and do the SAVE.
That's ALL you have to do -- the OLD version of your label or
qsl card file -- or even your report files -- is not ready for
immediate use in 2006..
Just keep in mind about that caveat I have been mentioning
about adjusting your TIME from 6 to 4-digits (if you want to
do it)..

Well, I just successfully modified my custom label files to show 4-digit
times according to the recipe in the 2006 Help file. I will state for
the record that the DXbase "Label Designer" might just be the most
complex utility I've encountered in 20 years of using a PC (I have
another label design program that's duck soup by comparison), but with
Joe's screen shots and step-by-step guide, the conversion was easy.
Kudos, Joe.

To all:
If anyone has made Custom Labels in previous versions of DXbase,
and they wish to use them in DXbase2006 -- PSE visit the HELP file,
under the INDEX TAB -- you will find the words:
"Modifying time to 4 digits"
I made a help file entry (which Jack has included) to assist anyone
in doing the change ...
If by chance, you do not feel comfortable in doing the changes,
there are many users who might be able to help you directly!!
I am available.
